Gentamicin sulfate 4% solution for injection
Pharmacological properties:Gentamicin has a wide range of antimicrobial activity - it is active against most gram-negative and gram-positive microbes, including: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia tsoli, Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp., Scherratia spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Staphylococcus spp. spp. It is less active against streptococci and various gram-positive cocci. Does not affect anaerobic bacteria, fungi and viruses. Gentamicin has a bactericidal effect: it binds to the 30 subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibits the synthesis of microbe proteins.
Indications:Pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, pleurisy, empyema, peritonitis, meningitis, septicemia, infected wound, urinary tract infections, purulent infection caused by resistant gram-negative strains. The drug is often prescribed in case of mixed infection, as well as when the cause is unknown.
Release form: 2 ml of 4% solution (80 mg) in an ampoule. 10 ampoules in a package.
